Many major credit cards offer ‘free’ travel insurance. However, it is important you read the PDS and understand the terms and conditions. 

There are some important considerations when deciding whether the cover provided with your credit card will be adequate.

Policy inclusions Check the PDS to understand the level of cover and what the exclusions are. For example, is the destination you’re travelling to and the activities you’ll be undertaking – skiing, scuba diving, bungee jumping, surfing – covered. 

Have you used a credit card to pay for the holiday? Some cards will only provide cover for international travel on the portions of the trip paid for with the credit card.
