What should I look for if I want to make a travel booking online?

You should always verify the business you are considering booking through is registered in Australia and ATIA Accredited.

Not sure if they are ATIA?  You can check our ATIA search directory to validate a travel business’s accreditation status.

There are an increasing number of travel websites out there. A lot of travel sales websites are based overseas and are not eligible for ATIA accreditation.

It’s important to know that if you book with a foreign business, you are not entitled to the consumer protections you are afforded by booking through a business registered in Australia.

If you have an issue with an overseas-based agent, you either need to find a solution with them directly or contact a consumer protection agency in that country.
